While looking around campus for these different typefaces, I realized how easily we overlook certain details in our life. Whereas one typeface may be great for a product and draw customers to it, another could just as easily repel a customer from buying or looking at it. When I sorted these typefaces into different concepts, I couldn’t help but notice the surrounding context of the design. Take for example the typeface I used to show “Women/Feminine”, there are a lot of curls in the typeface which can be connected to the curls in a woman’s hair or the curls in a princess’ dress; but the font alone may not have been able to portray this message. By adding the picture of a princess and changing the color of the font to pink (a generally accepted feminine color), this allowed the design to truly display femininity.
